I have been interested in teaching my dog to find certain scents, and I have decided that I would like to train him to find bedbugs. I read a bunch about other dogs bein trained to do so, and I have found a decoy/trainer to help me accomplish this. (Marcus Hampton, decoy for 2009 Ohio Regionals).
Problem is, Marcus told me I have to get a kit for bed bugs, and I have no idea where to find one. He didn't know either. So if someone on here could point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciatte it.
P.s. I would also appreciatte any advice on training for dropped deer antlers for something to do with my dog.
Seems to me you would need bed bugs, both alive and dead. You'd also need bedbug excrement, which I suppose would accompany your live bed bugs. As for antler shed, that's what you'd need to start. As far as training, detection is pretty much detection, the principle is the same. Responses may vary, search techniques are basically the same.
