Lacey, gsd raw fed, ripped into small pieces & ate 2/3 of one of those plastic/paper wraps used under ground beef, during the nite. Heard some stomach rolling noises this a.m., she vomited clear liquid twice this a.m., about two hours ago & had normal stool this a.m. Other wise, acting normal.
Talked with vet (that I actually trust) he said this should not cause obstruction; said to wait & feed lite then normal tonite, she should be fine.
My question, should I feed raw, or the boiled rice w/chicken.
my gut (excuse the pun) tells me to feed rice/chic for day or two; but just defrosted whole chicken for her last nite, hate to see it waste if I can't raw feed for couple days --

If she just ate mostly paper, i don't think it matters what you feed her, unless she starts showing any signs of distress, then you get her to emergency. Kasey swallowed a plastic lid when he was a yr old and we didn't know it until 12 hours later when we had signs something was wrong. It got stuck in the valve from the stomach to the intestine. But with paper at least you have a chance of that getting all soft and falling apart so it can pass. I wouldn't feed her anything if she throws up anymore, and at least have the vet examine her belly and maybe xrays - that's how we saw what Kasey had swallowed!
The fact that she ripped it into small pieces is a good sign. I have one dog who swallows those whole (I make her throw up when I see that I've been too careless and she's gotten into the trash and that plastic thing is missing...)
If it were my dog, I would take a wait and see attitude, maybe with a bland diet for a day or so.
The chicken should keep in the fridge for a day or two.
