Not only is the site full of inaccuracies, they leave out important info, such as cities that have enacted breed bans, have NOT had a reduction in dog bites or severity of bites. Their pic of a pit bull isn't a pit bull. Their statistics as to highest numbers of bites per breed is wrong. For several years Labradors have topped the list. Goldens are fast approaching. And finally, who decides what breed a dog is that bites. After all, they can't tell themselves what a pit bull isn't. The dog that attacked and bit myself and my guide dog was listed on the police report as a German Shepherd, yet was some sort of spitz breed.
I think some people just want to spread hate, no matter what the cost and facts be damned. Also, it's displaced anger. Anger at the deaths and disfigurations which we can all understand;desire for someone or something to pay. The anger turns to hatred. This hate reminds me of the kind that causes genocide.
The person who runs that site is a well known nutter. Ostensibly it's a support site for people who have been attacked by dogs but if it wasn't a pit bull that attacked you then you aren't welcome there. People attacked by other breeds are kicked off the forum and banned.
She also posted a blog long before she started Dogsbite.org and reading that you can tell she has a lot of other issues beyond dogs. In one blog she stated that people who drive pick up trucks are all rednecks who rape women and revel in violence.
On the Dogsbite forum they post that weight pulling is just a cover for dog fighting as is all sports involving bully breeds and that all pit bull owners are thugs and gangsters with small penises and that they are persecuting her because of her stand on public safety. I could go on all day about that woman. She is an out and out complete loony tunes nut case.
