Hi,
Have been reading this forum for a long time getting all the useful knowledge and information. I have a Belgian Tervuren. She is currently 4 months old. I have done nothing but play with her, with a ball on a string, with old rags and anything that attracts her. She is especially attract to the rag and it drives her into high prey drive. When she got the rag in her mouth, I play a "weak" tug game with her for a bit and let her carry the "prey" around. She would carry it for a bit, put it down and get a whole mouthful into her mouth before she runs around again. I wonder if her mouth is too small and the rag keeps falling out and get in her way? She doesn't mouth when she is running around with it... Currently, I own raising working puppy video, building drive, bite-work and others I don't remember now...
No Sonny, I think your question is phrased well enough.
Though some others here may have some more direct questions of their own about how the bite work is being imprinted, my question is; are you waiting for a counter before you give the reward?
Weekends, theres alot of people 'out' because of training. I'm sure others will chime in when they have the chance. Patience.
Hey Sonny, It almost sounds like your weak game of tug is really letting her win with a weak bite. Here's a couple of clips that will show some good tugging with a rag. Watch the part where he takes the rag in both hands, sort of folding it in for the puppy to get a full grip. http://www.youtube.com/user/loganhauskennels#p/u/6/vsueZQhmdUQ

Hi Randy and Steve,
Thanks for the reply and advise. I used to play pretty rough with her until she just turn 4 months old. I notice that as I started pulling harder, she would pull one of two times and then she would let go. I suspect whether she is teething and the play tug is hurting her. Thus, I stop playing tug with her and just running her around with the "prey". Should I continue this and started playing tug again when she is about 6 months old (after her teething)?
Today, while with her, I did not play tug, instead just let her carry the prey and run around. She had a full grip and did not let the prey touch the ground at all... I supposed this is good progress?
Again, thanks for the advise. And Steve, that video is awesome.... give me more ideas!
