this is my very first time posting here, I need some help from you guys to tell me what you think about my future puppy, I am included the link to the Pedigree Database about my puppy pedigree http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/para.utkoma?fadir=389883&modir=474238, yesterday I just put down my deposit for my puppy, I am very excited looking forward adding him into my family. Actually the female is not being bred yet but the breeder have told me the female has spotting a bit, this pup is going to be as my family companion / protector so I hope that to all of you well experienced GSD onwer / breeder give me your input, and I really hope this breeding stock will produce black sable puppy though!
No, I'm not live in Alaska. To be honest to your question, mainly is the price of puppies and the timing for receiving the new puppy. Why do you asked why I buy from Alaska? I've spoked to the breeder yesterday and yes he don't have 20 some years of breeding experience and I also do search in this forum about my breeder reputation so far no bad input but recommandation.
There is more to buying a puppy then just the price, the timeing of the litter & coat color. Different lines carry certain character & behavior traits that you may or may not want, need or be able to handle. JMO
I read about the litter and what the sire is expected to produce. I'm wondering about what Anne posted too Walter. Don't get defensive, but not being able to handle may be something to think about if you and your family together havent lived with dogs.
The point has been brought up Walter,
Have you done any research on this linage? Do you have any idea or expectation on what the dogs will come out like?
Do you have any idea what it takes to rise a 'companion/family protector'?
It's no idle question.
The dog you 'think' you're looking for takes more patience then you can imagine, and finesse that is beyond most but the very best handlers. However that same dog in lesser hands ends up in a foster home carrying a s$%& load of baggage.
thanks for all input. Honestly I have no idea about my puppy pedigree and that's why I'm here for asking for opinions. I am not a first time dog owner but it will be the first time having a dog being raise in side the house. Of course when come to choosing the right puppy to the right owner I think this is the breeder job (IMO), and yes I did told my breeder what is my activity level and members in my family and living life style, I think this is a big help for the breeder to match up the right pup to the right owner. Defensive?? NO..NO, when you willing to ask questions and you MUST willing to take what others have to said. From my point of view, if I want to get a protection purpose dog I should look for a TRUE working line and not from show line with those fancy titles.
