Okay, especially for those with multiple dogs. What system do you have in place for poop disposal? My current system definitely needs improvement. We have weekly garbage pickup, so something must be done with it in the meantime. Suggestions?
I have to pick it up the instant it is produced (I have some serious poop-eaters). I also have a very small yard and four big kibble-fed dogs. This results in a lot of bags. Smell is a problem especially in the summer.
WOW. I was going to suggest a tightly lidded trash can, with a good quality trash bag liner designated for the poop only (not your other household trash) then move it to the trash when the garbage collection comes. But you'd need a really big bin....

This is what I do. I use a metal can with a lid. I have one outside for dog waste and one in the cellar for daily litter box scooping.
The odor doesn't seem to permeate the metal -- even in the summer. The only time I smell the contents is when I have the lid off.
I am pretty sure you should not compost dog poop. I am a master gardener and in all of my composting classes they always said absolutely don't put it in the compost pile. You really should be careful with fresh cow and horse manures as well. Now, these dog septic system look promising, but if your soil is not well drained, then it will be poop soup...
