Hi im trying to train my dog to bark on command. He is a 2 year old Dogue De Bordeaux. He was well socialised as a puppy.. we took him to railway stations, busy roads, busy shopping centres, and dog socialisation classes.
After doing all this he seems to have ended up with nerves of steel.. hes barked about three times in his whole life. Ive followed ed's articles but with no luck.. he just puffs his chest out and stands and stares.
Of the three times ive got him to bark they have been by whizzing a radio control car past him and wheeling the bbq around the garden.. and even that he wises up to in about 2 seconds.
He doesnt bark out of frustration for food either as we have taught him to "wait" until he is released to take a treat or eat..
Has any one else got any other tricks i could try..
