I have a Golden Retriever-mix. I was told she is part Alaskan Malamute but she is very small, for being that mix, and I am mixed up!
I have called the lady back, but she swears it was a white Alaskan Malamute. Ruby has a small head for a GR, but her tail is turned up. Perhaps she is small from both her parents being small. Love her lots anyway.
I wouldn't worry about it Bandit my Shephard/Retriever (the red one in my pic) is out of a black lab bitch????? With mixes you just never know what genes are going to be dominant.

I agree with Elaine. Both Golden Retrievers and Alaskan Malemutes are large, with Malemutes being the larger and with the larger broader head. No matter which genes predominated, she shouldn't be small unless there was a problem with her hormones during growth. And pure white Malemutes are almost unknown. The only one I've ever seen, after 40 yrs of training over 2000 dogs, was an albino.
Except for the Samoyed, which is not small; the other spitz breeds that are white are less common in the USA. The ones I know of would include the German Spitz breeds, especially the Giant; the Japanese Spitz; and the Volpino.
