is terminal. We just found out last weekend. He has a glioblastoma that is in 3 lobes and cannot be removed or treated.
I just need some kind thoughts thrown my way. I kinda neglected the pups this weekend and I need to get back in synch with them.
I thought about bringing Hambone up to see him...Pup likes him, but I am not sure how Hambone is going to react. Dad has changed his behavior drastically from the pressure of the tumor. I need to think this one through.
Anyway, thoughts, thoughts, kind thoughts and prayers needed for my family.
I am so sorry. I know the feeling of bad news like that. My dad has had lymphoma 4 times in his life. Every time the news came it was like a blow to the stomach. The best thing you can do is spend time with him. And I applaud your decision to bring your dog with you. Pets can be so therapeutic in times of sickness. It will help keep your dad relaxed and hopefully take his mind off of things, even if just for a minute. My thoughts are with you and your family. Please keep us updated.
I'm so sorry to hear what you are going through. Our family is coping with cancer right now too, so I understand how devastating the news can be. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
As are mine. Wishing you and your family strength and peacefulness as you deal with this diagnosis. As for Hambone, you would know best how he's likely to handle the situation, and while I'm all for the comfort of loving pets in a time like this, some pets are more agreeable than others - I have no idea how close the two are, but if you have honest concerns that your dad's abnormal behavior could cause Hambone to act out, I'd save yourself the stress and just concentrate on you being there for him.
Jo, I am so sorry your family is having to go through this.
I have a very good friend who just lost her husband of the same cancer this past week.
I think it is a wonderful idea to bring over Hambone, I bet that it would make both of them happy.
It is the simple pleasures that are treasured most now.
You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.
