Hello Everyone;
Sharing video of the newest member of our family, Havoc vom Wildhaus, son of Tobi von den Wolfen and Caliber vom Wildhaus.
Havoc is just 10 weeks old in this video. We are trying to implement Michael Ellis's system of puppy developement. Our goal is to teach him engagement, (ignoring his environment) learn the marker word "Yes", body awareness, and muscle memory, luring and that Mom is a blast!

What a team!!! He looks terrific. I have a question (many really but one for now ) At that same age my boy would have been going for the strings on the coat, my pant leg and if someone held him while I ran away he would have taken off their hands. His energy level was similar but his focus was about attack the moving target vs get the food.
Albeit I had no training experience which may have a lot to do with it, but even at that young age, is there a way to build the food drive and maybe lessen the attack mode?

Hi Sheila; thank you for the compliment. Havoc has freakin crazy prey drive. He is a very young pup and so generally pups are more focused on the food. So it looks like this little guy is very much like his Dad and I will be able to use both drives.
Michael's system of training is one of creating a communication system to be used thru the life of the dog. Pup needs to learn to stay engaged with me, staying mentally, physically and emotionally connected to me, regardless of the environment, learn to be lured (physically manipulated)muscle memory, (stretching that little neck and also staying balanced)and that he can trust me, and I am a WHOLE BUNCH OF FUN!!!!!!! Learning how to learn,,,,,,,doesn't get any better than that. PS I have to redirect him all the time,,,,or he will bite the crap outa me, lolololo. I also am raising him in an expen, tethered to me or in a crate. I think this is also helping him to learn to contain himself!!!!!!!!! Now if I can just learn to contain myself! LOLOLO Tobi is under the same training plan. Wish I had know then what I know now........IT'S NEVER TOO LATE!
Happy Training,
Roni

AGREED! On all points I was fantastic at turning the drive on.....turning it off.... not so good....but isn't that why God created the crate?
My dog is 10 years old now and I went to my first Michael Ellis seminar last Spring; learning is never wasted and I'm blessed with a dog who is game for anything.

Sorry Sheila, for the long winded post. Wanted I wanted to say was that, the pups drive is now being focused in a productive way. If I didn't train this pup this way, I too would have torn clothing and bleeding body parts, loloolo.
