...is the title of a book I'm reading, a collection of essays by a New Yorker magazine journalist that really has nothing to do with dogs other than the one essay that was used for the book title. But that essay is very interesting for anyone who wonders, What's going on in a dog's mind? and, How does Cesar do it? Turns out it's not because he's part dog. He just has "beautiful phrasing" and is a "fluid and symmetrical" person. Anyone remember the Cesar episode with JonBee the jindo?
Unless you have a subscription for The New Yorker digital edition, you can read an abstract of the essay here. The essay discusses the work of Brian Hare.
I guess I need to work on my posture and movements.

I remember that essay on CM. I liked it. It was elsewhere, though, where I saw him discuss his own therapy and his changes to a more balanced personality. He said that when he married Illusion, she just "would not sit or stay," so "I had to change."
"I guess I need to work on my posture and movements." Me too.
On a different level, though, who here would disagree that standing tall and confident can have an effect on the dog's perception of us?
