I've been feeding raw since mid-summer. I know some members mentioned the benefits for the dog with allergies. I'm wondering if it helps with humans. I had two people come for Christmas this year who are allergic to dogs and cats. My brother in law usually has watery eyes and becomes congested by the end of the visit. This year nothing! The other person a teenager had no reaction either. I have added a dog this year. Has anyone else had allergies lessen when switching to raw?

Well, if you think about it, if their allergies are primarily to dander, and if the dog has absolutely top notch skin and coat...less dander...less reaction. Oversimplifying and I'm sure there are a zillion other tiny, partial reasons, but sure. Makes some sense to me.

Give the humans a chicken quarter and see what happens.

Hee hee, there is actually a raw human diet, don't think they'll try it though.

Hi to all, I wanted to give you a list of things that I am feeding to my gsds. If you would tell me anything I'm doing wrong. Now I have 1 male 2 yrs old, 1 female 11-13mos. Not sure of exact birthday of female. Chicken, duck, or turkey necks, ground meat, carrots ground up to a mush, Raw eggs including shells, baked sweet potato, Vitamin C tablets grounded to powder. teaspoon alfalfa kelp powder mix, fish oil, vitamin e soft-gel. All raw except for sweetpotato. On Fridays its seafood nite they get 1 can of Salmon, 1can of Mackeral, 1can of sardines. The male gets 2cans of salmon instead of 1. The male also gets 2-3tsp of enzymes. He possibly has a enzyme deficiency problem. Each dinner contains a mixture of stuff, I dont feed a whole meal of necks or whole mealof ground meat ect. I try to use commonsense if i see there constipated they get more ground or more bone if stools are loose. Quanta the one that was put down yesterday got the above foods also, her stools always seem to be harder for her but not alarminly so. Vet said what I was seeing when she had a stool was like a overage that her intestine couldnt hold because it was so full. It hurts me that I didnt see this part of it, maybe I could of prevented the whole thing. I could tell this vet was not for the raw diet so the circumstance was much worse for me. I think thats why the guilt came yesterday. He made me feel like it was my fault, and being new to the diet I was kinda believeing him.

whoops one more thing I give is liver, gizzars, cow heart and once cow tongue, the tongue got to me abit.yuk! couple times a week

Debbie, it would be more beneficial to you to start your own post.

If you could, try to be a little more detailed than "chicken" or "bone".

So far, I know what foods you feed, and that's about it.

Maybe some amounts or what you were using to adjust meat to bone.

michael I'm just new to the computer, I dont know how to start a new thread or post. I'm just trying to figure it out as I go. This is the first forum that I ever been on. Sorry, I'm alittle embarressed about it. lol hang in there with me.
