I am putting together a breeding for next summer via chilled AI. I was wondering if any of you had any suggestions for companies supplying chilled AI kits, or a particular extender that works well I can find a kit containing?
This is a first for me so I'm trying to get all my ducks in a row well in advance. I'm pretty excited. These should be spectacular puppies.

That's a given Jason considering a vet at bare minimum is required for chilled AI, and with the cost associated with such a venture I'll be heading to a specialist. I'm setting up talks with a repro vet next week and will be asking the same thing. It might be they have a brand/extender they favor but it doesn't change that I have to supply the kit to the breeder's vet in Michigan.
I'm pretty invested in making this work as best I can. :-)

Because part of the terms of this contract is the I supply the kit and pay for the related charges. ^.^ Besides it's generally not the sire side of things where there are problems, it's usually the storage, and timing issues where you run into if things are going to work or not.
There are about 15 or so different chilled canine kits on the market. If there is one with a better track record than others in this 59% - 80% success rate I would rather use that one rather than rely on the cheapest one with the greatest markup the sire's repro vet can supply.
I agree with you that timing is a HUGE issue when dealing with chilled semen. After doing the breeding I did with chilled semen I said I would never again use chilled. My chilled semen breeding was succesfull with a large healthy litter but after going through the process I realized how screwed I would have been if the sire's owner wasn't 100% reliable.
