on another post I said I'd post some recall vids, my dogs have gotten a little sloppy due to an unusually cold winter here in Virginia, not the dogs' fault, too damn cold for me to do anymore than throw the ball. on the last segment you can see Roxie needs some more refresher/remedial training
I'll work her by herself so she doesn't feel the need to compete and do more repeations. what I wanted to show but the battrees' went dead because of the cold, was when I send them out and call them back I toss them the other ball in my pocket or send them out again
Great vids Dennis. She looks great. Not really sloppy at all.
I do the same kind of work with my dogs. (My male is very fast on the down. My female is a bit slower & always has been.) Sometimes seperately & other times with both...one in a down & the other on the send out. I will also put them in a sit side by side & toss out the balls & then make them do doggie calesthetics (as Connie calles it ) & them release them to retreive their balls. It if fun to make them keep thinking & listening to what command is coming next.
I wish that I had your backyard. Wow that's great. I hope they never build there so you can continue to have its use.

I think I might be creating a problem, they may think that empty lot is "theirs" and get territorial about it.....won't the new owners be surprised when they can't get out to their backyard
Great video, I’m glad to see I’m not the only one freezing my butt out there. We got the snow to boot. Makes finding the balls a little more challenging.
Looks like your dogs are having a great time though!

I'd take your sloppy recalls as you call it. They look much better than where I'm at. Nice job!
I always enjoy your training vids, Dennis. Good stuff.
Sorry if this is a little off the recall topic, but how did you train the sit in motion (there was one instance where you asked for it in the clip)? I'd like to work on this, and eventually the down in motion, with Oscar, but he's currently trained to auto sit whenever I stop walking - the concept of sitting while I keep walking is really conflicting to him and I'm not sure how best to teach it.
I admit, I have not researched any "professional" techniques for this yet, but seeing you do it in the video just motivated me to ask.
