I have watched the 8 weeks to 8 months which was really great !
I have always owned dogs my life but i really never trained them properly, I really wanted to do it right with this one !
Which video would be next to get for my arsenal...Basic dog obedience or marker training, she will be family dog and not a working dog.
So far, no accidents in the house, no crying in the crate ( she loves it ) comes when I call her from just using the technique in the video.
One other question, I cant talk my wife into a raw diet , so I started her on natural balance ( sweet potato and chicken formula )she seems fine with it as far as bowels go.
The directions say 1.5 cups for her weight but she should have a little more sense she is a puppy ?
oh also, are those slip lead collars good for taking in my fenced back yard and for walks on puppies?
A table and this text:
From six weeks to six months, feed three times a day. You may want to add a small amount of Natural Balance® Chicken and Sweet Potato Canned Dog Food for ease of feeding. The amount of canned dog food can be gradually decreased as the puppy matures. After six months, it is recommended to feed twice daily.
I have a couple of slip leads that have come home with us from the vets, I have tied a knot on them so that they can tighten enough to keep the dog on the leash but not choke them at all.
I find that they don't loosen back up properly and I wouldn't want a pup to accidentally get a correction or choked from the leash.
I think either video would be great, it just depends on what you want. The marker training video will set up a good foundation for teaching your puppy anything in the world you could imagine. I would be especially helpful if you are thinking about training for any sport, or even really cool tricks!
The obedience will give you more insight into how and when to give corrections when the time comes. It also includes lots of information about markers.
