If we have any Candians from Ontario on here, you know that pitbulls are illegal. (Ones born after 2005)... Because the breed has an aggresive background, ect.
Thanks for pointing this so. So sad. I joined the facebook group, and hopefully more word gets out (hadn't heard about this until to day). I just loath this law ... and I hope these two can be saved.
I feel like I have to go, being a dog owner.
I couldn't imagine someone taking my Jynx away, even though she's a GSD. Who knows maybe in the next ten years, they'll be banned too. ):
This law is terrible, and the worst part about the law is...
If your dog LOOKS like a pitbull, and you can't prove that it's not (ie. Papers) then they can put down your dog.
" "This is an injustice," Branco said, pointing out how ironic it is that he will not only have to pay a lawyer to fight for his family's dog, but, as a resident of Brampton, he will also contribute to the cost of defending the city. "
That is a really good point...

Well, at least there is a bit of morbid comfort that it is not just in the states that the good citizens are hit "comin' and goin')... I've still got my fingers crossed for these pups.
I went to the rally this morning, there are a lot of pictures and some videos of the turn out, the family spoke and it was hard to listen to the 75 year old woman talk about losing her dog.
The animal services actually even changed their hours for this event, the event was planned in THREE days, also it was crazy cold out, none the less they're usually open at 9 am... but because the rally, they weren't going to open till 12, since the rally ended at 11... once we heard that, tons of people stayed later.

I hear about this too, it's terrible. I fully on bored and it's a shame that i missed the Rally and I'll join the facebook page.
The law won't stop the scumbags and crappy owners from getting "tough dogs." They will mistreat and abuse other breeds and those dogs become monsters as well. In fact I heard of a case where mastiffs mauled somebody but the news aired that it was Pitbulls... I guess mastiffs don't get enough ratings.
Well I'll be hoping for them, and attend anymore rallies if there are any. Good on you for getting the word out.
