So everything's being going well with Dolly, until now. She seems constipated, and when she tries to go the only thing that comes out is little pieces of pudding like dark colored stools. Just since Wednesday. We've been waiting to see if it gets better, but doesn't seem to be.
Her last day of antibiotics was Tuesday. This week she's had ground beef, ground turkey, chicken backs, a drumstick, and chicken wings, along with her salmon oil and vitamin e. She did have her first egg last night, but she's had the problem since Wednesday. This morning I only gave her ground beef since I thought maybe too many bones had constipated her. She's had all this stuff before. The only thing I can think of is the ground beef, because it's a different kind. She's used to organic grass fed beef, and this beef is just regular beef from the supermarket (I usually get it at Whole Foods and farmer's markets). Could it be that different?

Has she been dumpster-diving or eating socks?
Was Tuesday regular log-poop?
If (1) no and (2) yes, then I would bait some water and then give her a couple of small meals of muscle meat and plain pumpkin with plenty of water.
I probably would not give any big meals to pile up behind any possible obstruction. I'd try the above and see, then post back and/or call the vet for different help.

What pumpkin does for constipation is add bulk to small hard poop. Water helps it a LOT. When moist bulk forms, the stool moves along better and it easier to eliminate.
The way it works for constipation is about the same way it works for diarrhea. It adds bulk to fluid poop.

She's acting totally normal, which is good. She seems a little bloated, but doesn't show discomfort when I felt around her tummy. She already ate tonight, unfortunately, but I'm going to get pumpkin for tomorrow morning.
I don't think she could have gotten into anything. She pooped out floss two weeks ago but we've been throwing it away in the kitchen trash, where she can't get into, ever since. I hope there's no obstruction. At her age, she can't go under for surgery.

Oh gosh, you're not there, or even close to there.
Also, my little senior was "under" last February for a complete dental workup (cleaning, x-rays, extraction, etc.), and I was amazed and thrilled with the distance general anesthesia has come now.
