I have started training for the AD with my GSD. I am looking for suggestions on products to use on his feet to toughen them and prevent blisters. I did a search and came up with a couple product suggestion, but wanted to hear from users what they thought worked best for them.

It comes up from time to time as a topic. Usually people suggest Tuf foot http://leerburg.com/70.htm . You can also get some leather dog boots until your dog's feet are up to par with the roadway.
We had a JRT who, from time-to-time, would tear layers of skin off his paw pad. We used both bag balm as well as Tuf-Foot, but neither did much to help as our JRT had extreme ball drive. We would take him to the park and he would run, stop, turn, etc. as fast as he could. It wasn't until we packed up to leave that he would begin to limp and we'd notice he had torn up his pawpads. Poor guy would tear them up earlier in the evening chasing his ball but he loved fetch so much, the pain simply didn't seem to bother him - or, at least, he showed no signs. We ended up getting him dog boots from Ruff Wear. They are of great quality and seemed very comfortable for him.
