My comment might be that this irresponsible picture holds a place of prominence on the Dog-Bite Warning pages of long-experienced dog experts as What Not to Do (EVER).

This is a picture of a fool who trusts his dog more than he loves his baby.
(although I really get the sense that this is more about the owner and some macho sense of power that he thinks he has over his equally macho dog, or some bull. Whatever idiotic motivation is behind this is stronger than his attachment to the prop baby posed here for the owner's ego.)
I posted a comment but I didn't know how to view it (if it even posted?)or other comments that have been made about this pic. Is there a way to see the comments without having to subscribe to the site?
That's ancient. That circulated via email several....maybe 5 or so, years ago. It was entitled "how to hug a baby." My cousin sent it to me and asked what my opinion was on it. I said I bet it was taken about ten minutes before the dog killed the child.
No news here-just your typical dumba$$ who can't read a dog as well as most of us read Aramaic.

Jenni,
To some of the newer folks on the forum who are here to learn, but who certainly would not fall in the category of a "dumba$$", seeing the photo of your dog and baby might at first glance appear very similar to the photo of discussion.
I think it would be helpful if you would point out the differences so that when they see similar pictures, or worse yet - be in those situations, they would know when to panic and when to relax.
What is so obvious to those with the experience can easily go un-noticed by those in new terrority.
