Great job training those pups! Very interesting breed, the Rajapalayams, I saw them at a rare breed dog show one time. The skin conditions must be difficult there as for the humidity.
The table manners video was very cute! I can't help you on the videos you are looking for, I am still figuring them out myself! Will these puppies be trained for any specific jobs?
They will be pet/guard dogs. Since the video was made I have given away the Male rajapalayam. Now I have only 3 puppies, A Doberman Male, a Chippiparai/Kanni Male and a Rajapalayam Female.
Yes the pups did suffer from a bit of a skin condition, but now it has cleared up. They are used to the humidity and they have uber short coats. I have started feeding raw chicken and bones and yoghurt and rice and a bit of Eukanuba for training treats and that helps a lot.
The Chippiparai pup (named Kari) seems to be a bit afraid of me. He is a fast learner but he does not want to come to me. Once he is near me , he is OK. I dont correct him any more than I correct the others. He comes running to me when I have treats, but not when I call him with out the treats. The only time any pup receives any correction is when they try to eat before the OK or steal from other's plates.
He wags his tail and goes upto any stranger who comes into the house, but greets me like that only in the morning. After that he keeps about 3-4' away from me except if I have treats. I think he is scared of me.
Here is a video of them on the day I brought them home. I have given the male white pup away since. It also has a few clips of some adoloscents at the breeders at the end.
Watch this video between 2mins 47 secs and 3 mins and 17 seconds. Am I being too harsh? He has grown since and this video was taken almost a month and half back. But you can still see signs of him being afraid of me.
I didn't see anything that would make me think you were too harsh. I thought he seemed a bit confused or bored with what happened for a second but then he settled right back in. Maybe a bit tentative but not afraid.
Here is the latest video of my puppies during feeding time. It was taken today. My little doberman puppy 63 days old is starting to understand the rules too. He is so cute and impulsive yet manages to stick to the rules.
