Hi everybody! My name is Brandon and I a firefighter by trade. This gives me a lot of time off so I also own Addict K9. I have trained dogs for about 10 years now. I started in Obedience and Personal Protection. I'm like a lot of people and wondered if the personal protection dogs would really protect somebody when the time came so I took the last 5 years off from that and started to assist some trainers with the training of Police Service Dogs. It was refreshing to see that the training translated into real bites in real protection scenarios. I am just now getting back into the PPD realm. I am always looking for ways to improve my training techniques (thanks Leerburg for much of my training techniques). I look forward to learning from all of you and maybe I have some input that may help somebody else as well. The pictures are of me and my dog OZ.
Ok so I cant figure out how to attach images. Help!!!
Hi Brandon, Welcome to the forum! You will need to post your photo on Photobucket or another similar site, and then use that link to upload the photo on this site. You will do this under "My Stuff" and "My Preferences". Hope this helps!
Very cool dog, Brandon. Is he out of http://www.dutchshepherds.us/ by any chance? I've swapped a couple e-mails with the breeder there. She has some good lookers...and a litter on the ground right now - just a little too early for me.
I've got a couple buds here that are firefighters. Pisses me off that they always have so much time. (Actually, in career #2 which starts next year, I plan a schedule that is similar). Welcome to the board - it will be awesome to hear some of your training thoughts.
A dog has alot of friends because he wags his tail instead of his mouth.
