It isn't butchered just yet. Is there some special way I should have it cut up to leave meat on the bones and to maximize the purchase to feed to the dogs??
Most of the beef bones are going to end up being more recreational than RMB. Just let the butcher know you want the bones for your dogs and be prepared to come home with a lot of big boxes to go in the freezer. Most are more than happy to do this for you.

Nobody else here has experience with buying whole (or side)of Beef or swine?
I spoke with an individual that has grassfed, "organic" beef. I am thinking about buying a Cow and not a steer because it is cheaper and I'm not using much of the meat for human consumption (i really don't eat much red meat any more).
She seemed to be fairly knowledgable about the process becasue she feeds her dogs RAW as well. We have discuss further about how I want it cut up, but that is where I am a bit lost. I wantg to be a bit "in-the-loop" about dictating the cuts rather than just letting her tell me how it is done?
