What a great video and story.
Not nearly as good a story, but a similar experience. We had an officer, a few years ago, crash on his way home. It was a horrible roll-over crash, killing the officer. The cage was also broken open and the dog escaped. We spent the night looking for the dog, who we knew would be scared and quite possibly injured. We had no luck finding him, who knows where he was hiding. The next day, around noon ( the accident happened at 3 p.m. the day before) an officer on patrol, over 20 miles from the accident scene, was answering a call for assistance at a citizens house. When he finished his business, he walked back to his patrol car and there was the dog sitting by the rear door of his squad car. The officer didn't say a word, just walked up, opened the door and the dog jumped in. Then he called us (K9 folk) we came, took custody of the dog and took him immediately to the vet. It was just odd how that worked out and the dog recognized a police car.
