It's raining... hurricane Alex is working on raising the level of our aquifer.
When it rains for several days straight like this Jake and Dixon inevitably get wet. Either we get caught in the rain or their underbellies get wet from splashing in the already wet street.
Anybody have any suggestions on superfast ways to dry off a dog? I don't really mind that they get wet (I think they enjoy playing in puddles to be honest), what I do mind is the wet belly prints on my floors. I towel them off as much as possible, but it never entirely dries them off.
In the morning when I'm running late, it's raining, dogs are wet... a quick dry method would be so nice
I don't think its possible to get them 100 percent dry. Towels, blow drying, sham wow. Other then a boxer we had a long time ago, every other dog we've owned stays wet enough to leave the floor wet like that.
We have an air compressor in our carport which I use to blow the water off of 'em I towel them, then blow and brush them at the same time ... nice way to blow out the coat as well!
LOl, I've never tried 90psi. I do have a dryer like the one Willie linked and they still always seem to stay damp enough to leave that wet spot where they lay.
Yeah, I don't think there's any getting them all the way dry (unless you wanna overheat both owner & dog via hairdryer!) ... best I've found is to blow 'em out as best I can and then brush them really well, which aids the drying process (I know this thanks to my own always very long hair )
Don't ever set up a fan indoors to help dry out a shedding breed ... Not a pretty site for my HW floors (or table tops, for that matter)
We take Eddie to the self groom place every 2 weeks.
They have several fancy forced air dryers there that get him all the way dry.
Id looks like its snowing while we do it though...fur everywhere.........The walls of the room are coated with the undercoat it blows out.
A friend of mine with Aussies does something he calls the "270 Blow Dry". I-270 is the outerbelt around our city. He puts the wet dogs in crates, opens all the windows in his SUV, and drives the freeway for an hour.
