A new pet store opened in town and I was told that they are dealing in raw food. This is the first of its kind in our parts so while I have a couple of days off, I thought I’d do the consumerly thing and pay them a visit.
I had no intentions of buying anything (can’t imagine slicing off a square of something I have no idea who prepared or what is truly in it), but just wanted to see what they were all about. She had some pretty cool stuff, elk, lamb and venison RMB’s to name a few – pricey though.
Well $123.00 later, I’ve got treats, toys and supplements to last a while. And yes, I bought the lamb and elk RMB’s (nice and meaty). I also bought two cans of this New Zealand venison tripe - $2.49 a can. The ingredient analysis looks good (of course 80% being moisture) however; my boys have never eaten any kind of “dog food” out of can.
Does anybody have any experience with this canned stuff – good, bad or otherwise before I run the can opener around the rim? I’m sure it’s going smell simply wonderful. As well, do you think this a fair market price?
LOL... not sure what means but I'm sure I totally resemble it.
But hey, they had such good stuff. This tripe in a can is so cool and man do the boys love it. 5 bux right there. Zukes, piggy snouts and tugs... they had actual tugs (puppy rag and jute) and I got a drop ball.
I have a tonne of make shift stuff but I feel so up-to-date now. I can train in front of the best of them.
All ESSENTIAL stuff. ....yeah right, I'm so rationalizing It was fun though.

Girls' just gotta have fun, and if you are like me, it is so much easier to spend on someone other than myself! Maybe we can get Leerburg to sell the Tripett for those of us who don't have access to the cool pet stores you do!

Edit reason: typo
You know... not really. Certainly not what I was expecting to hit my nose anyway.
Kind of reminded me of chewed alfalfa with a bit of a rancid meat lingering. Not even as bad as the dried tripe and absolutely no where near the fresh, right out of the belly stuff. It's also really compressed, you can actually slice it.
