Hi everyone hope all is well. This morning was the first time my Chico came to me like a wip puppy after eating a leg quarter chicken and couple pieces of pork with some bone. After making sure nothing was not stuck to his teeth, his pain seems to come from the back side of his mouth. I had a cold towel in the freezer so he could and did mouth on. all seem fine in ten minutes. Question? What should I be raw feeding him now since he is teething at five months? Thanks, Dan

I fed chicken necks or chicken wings with burger or mackerel. She doesn’t even bother to chew the necks, just swallows them whole. Fortunately, mine really didn’t care, just ate the food (and her teeth)

ETA: I think pork bones might be a little harder than chicken bones...that is why I chose necks and wings, smaller softer bones.
Scott, I have been weary about the fish, you have had no problems with those small bones, I have been using the ones in the can, also the Tuna in the can. teach me something here. Thanks. Dan

I haven’t had any problems, I have fed them Northern Pike, Walleye, Perch and Crappie, I fillet the fish, some of the fins and gills kinda scared me. The other bones are pretty small and soft.
Mackeral\sardines are just fine, I feed mackerel about three times a week. If they are extra good they get a Cornish game hen stuffed with mackerel….mmmmmm tasty!
The only problem I have with feeding them fish is taking them fishing, every cast they think I am throwing a toy. Every fish brought in the boat they think they can eat, every time you reel up they always think there should a fish on the line, if not, they give a “you’re such a failure look”.
Scott, You are suppose to be helping me, not making me laugh. Very good Scott, I will feel no fear about feeding those fish. If you need a second or third career, you can be a writer for a politician, I know, I know, no politics on this site. Dan

You make it sound like torture, kinda like ending up in prison… …just kidding Michael…
If either of you ever do “end up” here you are more than welcome, I always need help “educating” people with their “friendly” unleashed dogs at the boat access
