Wife and I are going to pick out our Mal this weekend. We have a boy name settled, but I am clueless as to good girl names.
I am not the kind of guy that wants to name the dog Stryker or Drago or anything like that. No hood names like Hennessy or Diesel. Also no German or Belgian etc. names.
My last GSD was named Babe and that was perfect. I like names that you might confuse for a person's name, and have an element of silliness/humor/irony to them. So far I am thinking of stuff like Daisy, Peach (the ladies of Nintendo land). Has to be easy to pronounce with a little pep, easy for dog to hear, not overly common.
Wow, Pepper is right on target! I know a Boston Terrier named Piper and I love that name...her nickname is "Pipes" lol.
Jennifer, thanks for your ideas as well. I like Eva, it's short and compact and still girly.
The boy's name will be Roger...sort of a double meaning. I like silly English names for boy dogs like Roger, Sheldon, etc. I'm also a big Roger Federer fan.
But Roger can be shortened to "Raj," and since my wife is Indian she is in stitches over the idea of calling her dog "Raj," as she knows literally 20 guys named Raj and she is not really a fan of Indian men...
Edit - just wanted to say thanks for the replies, I'm bowled over by how fast this forum moves.
I know this is silly and I may sound dumb for saying this out loud, but it will not be the first time. LOL
But, sometimes I wait to see the animal before I name it. A lot of times a name just jumps out of no where and you end up being like "yeah this is your name".
All my animals names are kind of strange to some people.
Our little mutt is named Astro. Wife said the dog reminded her of Astro Boy from the cartoon.
The Dobe Female is named Himmel. German for heaven.
We both speak Japanese, so a lot of our animals are Japanese named. Like the cat.
Yuurei. It means literally Night-Spirit. More commonly used for the word Ghost. He is a black cat.
My Arabian Horse Stallion is named Jamila-Rama. Pet name Jamil. Arabic for beautiful.
And then we have about 100+ Reptiles. All have names too. But, I will stop there....
I was trying to think of a few names, since that is what you asked for. But.... Ive got nothin. lol
-Bo
-Shiva (yes I know a male technically.) But, I think this sounds like a nice girls name.
-Missy
-Ai. Pronounced *I*. Popular Japanese female name. Means Love in Japanese.
That is the best I have at the moment. I am hungry and I can smell my food cooking. It is messing with my mind. LOL.
