So a link on my pup's prong collar broke today (not a leerburg prong collar, freak thing the link just broke in half when a puppy jumped on him -without permission-, there wasn't even a leash on it. I think it just twisted funny.)
I had some extra links but can only find one and the prong part of this particular link has a sharp edge. I've been sitting here with a dremel for the last half hour trying to grind it down but I'm not sure what metal this is...it's NOT grinding. I don't have any rasp tools or anything but is there any household item that will grind this down? Anyone else have this problem? Normally I'd use this as an excuse to replace the whole thing but he needs it so rarely it seems like a waste.
I will say this with all honesty, the only prongs I have issues with have been ones purchased at pet warehouses. I have never had an issue with the Herm Springer prongs.
Some of the cheaper brands definitely have more "squared off" and sharper edges. The herm sprenger have rounded edges. I never go with anything but these. Ed sells them.
