It has been so darn hot lately we've all been talking about how we haven't been training as much. Anyone interested in having a for-fun only contest on training a new behavior this coming weekend or next week, getting it on video and posting the vids?
We can then have someone (Connie, Will, Willie or Randy maybe) select the two or three best, funniest, dumbest - what ever, and the lucky winners get a full day in the Nurture Room with an unlimited supply of Ben and Jerry's new Gin and Tonic flavored icecream, the hammock or fainting couch and music of their choice.
Anyone game? Do we need any ground rules such as:
It must be a NEW behavior your dog does not alreay know...
You have to post what behavior you are going to train prior to training (don't know if we need this or not...)
I refuse to let your wet-raggedness influence my festive, party attitude and will next week be posting a video of Falcon's newest behavior. It will be awesome. You will be thrilled and amazed. You will be spell-bound. You will feel like such a bunch of weenies for not playing along, and I'll have a blast in the nurturing room ALL BY MYSELF! So there! ptweeeeeettttttt! (I don't know how to spell "spitting a raspberry"! LOL!)
Just you wait.
party pooper, party pooper, nah nah nah nah nahhh!
I have no idea how to do it either but figure I can figure it out! Surely if Dennis can post a video, any of us can!! LOL! (I KNOW he is going to say his son does it for him...)
My suggestion is "fetch the hose"
I don't seem to be able to get my guy to do anything but "tug of war with hose", I had dreams I could teach him to help me coil it! I spend about 40 min each day running water in various tanks.... I want to see how these masters of training get their dogs to pull in hoses! Now I'm pulling out 100 ft of hose with a 20 lb dog attached-- it's driving me crazy, I'm right at the edge of "DON"T TOUCH THAT STUPID HOSE EVER AGAIN!" I want to see the masters do it!

Edit reason: added more
First, Betty - THANK YOU!!!! A fellow contestant. Might just be you and me in the Nurture Room but we will have a great time.
Secondly... You suggested the most horrendous, difficult, next to impossible idea for me to train Falcon in one week. He is "hose obsessed"... Well, heck, maybe that will be the ideal thing to teach... hmmmm.. give me a few minutes to ponder this.
