There is some pretty ignorant stuff written in this article, but I'm not sure the idea of a law that would require dog owners to control their animals would be a bad thing.
A dog has alot of friends because he wags his tail instead of his mouth.
And no mention anywhere in that article about simple getting a CCW and some decent training and using your Constitutional right to arm and protect yourself.
Morons.

Suing in civil court will not protect nor bring back Fifi.
IMO any solution that involves more lawyers is a bad one. Have to agree with Will upon reflection. How can you argue against self-reliance?
Oh, I'm with you. I do think self reliance is a good thing in a society but if the neighbor's kid breaks my window (as in what's done is done)they can either pay for the window, pay my insurance company, or we can go to court.
There are options which while they won't bring back your poodle in most places you can still claim at least the initial purchase price to attempt to "make it right". I just wasn't aware AZ was a state where dogs are consider non value objects.

Hey, there are politicians here who consider certain classes of people "non value objects" so at least there is consistency.
Certain parts of town tend to harbor more loose dogs, and more loose, aggressive breeds. If I lived in one one of these areas, I'd have a firearm on my side at all times.

Lincoln NE just changed their dog laws to define 'Invisible Fencing' as not a fence. Owners can now be cited for 'at large' dogs if they are not present and controling the dogs.
I like that. I like that even better than Overland Park KA law declaring invisible fences must be at least 10' from any side walk and that they may not be used in a front yard.
