I did not know where to post this but since neutering is in some way connected to dominance I thought I'dd add it here.
There has been a lot of things said by various people regarding neutering and it ranges from
the extreme of people that state that neutering alters a dog's whole behaviour to those that state that it just provides one with a sterile dog.
There is few statements regarding neutering that I need to verify. Any comments/experiences shared is highly appreciated.
1. Neutering male dogs on the same property reduces dominance aggresion between them
2. Neutering a dog makes it less dominant.
3. A neutered male is more focussed on the
training field and less prone to sniffing
4. a Neutered dog is less protective
5. The age a dog is neutered is vital
Thanks, some of these statements may sound ridiculous but I want to gather some info.

Ask your vet for his Journal of the AVMA, July 15, 1997 issue. I'll give you the results summary: Effects of castration on fear of inanimate stimuli or aggression towards unfamiliar people were not significant. For urine marking, mounting, and roam, castration resulted in an improvement of >50% in >60% of dogs, and an improvment of >90% in 25-40% of the dogs. For remaining behaviors in the study (aggression towards human family members, aggression toward unfamiliar people, aggression toward other dogs in the household, aggression toward unfamiliar dogs, and aggression toward human territorial intruders) castration resulted in an improvement of >50% in <35% of dogs. Significant correlations were not found between the percentage of improvement and age of the dog or duration of the problem behavior at the time of castration.
