... and general snarkiness ...
I've seen comments about this in PMs.
If it's a new trend here, then I am probably guilty too, because I admit that I didn't see it.
But when more than one PM brings it up, I start to think.
Are the more experienced among us posting pat responses because of a kind of irritation about opinion shoppers?
I hope not. There's no such thing as a generalization for the folks who are new and ask questions, even if their question follows the "questions" of 376 opinion shoppers.
Personally, I just think it's been a rough year, period, because the snarkiness (if not the one-line responses) seems to have invaded other dog boards lately, too. Maybe it's cyclical.
I think a concise one-liner that is respectful is one thing.
I have found that, sometimes in searches, the information on this board is vast and overwhelming. Also it can be contradictory if you go to a thread that is very old (2002??) and forget to check the date. My point being that when one is new to the board, there may be some clarifying questions they may ask and experts can be of great help filtering the threads of info.
Some may find it irritating to answer repeated questions. Some may find it irritating when it comes to opinion shoppers. But, remember that asking for an opinion is a form of respect.
ETA: And Connie, you ask very good follow up questions without being judgmental and always assure people in your one-liners that it is your opinion and yours alone
