Frost, her breeder, another friend of mine, and I just got back from the trip Frost won to Seattle. We had a blast! The hotel was very fancy and treated Frost like a queen. Frost got to do a bunch of herding at a couple friends' places and worked cows for the first time. She did awesome :-)
Ingrid, Frost looks like she's been herding cattle all her life. She's amazing...
Honestly, I was pretty surprised. She can be a bit of a mama's girl and I figured that she might see the size of them and decided that *I* should herd them....
However she played true to her genetics and was very very keen. Bit low and ducked like she had been doing it her whole life.
Here is her mother (Kit) and full sibling (Pipefitter)/littermate (Ches) working:
Ingrid, As always, it is so cool to see the photos of Frost doing what she was meant to do... I was going to ask if you ever worry about her when "herding cattle" but after reading the next link, realized these dogs are simply good at what they do...
And btw... a few of us are secretly glad you and Frost were uh... occupied elsewhere during our little video contest... Better luck next time. (hehehehe)
Always love posts of yours like this, Ingrid - such a pleasure to see Frost's newest accomplishments!! The photo of her avoiding a bovine high kick is a WINNER!
Frost's breeder has a great website as well - brilliant philosophy, amazing dogs, and anyone who gives their pups names like "Can of Peas" and "Spackle" obviously has a healthy sense of humor!! LOVE IT!
