I am so glad they denied parole to this guy. I understand young people sometimes have poor judgment, but deliberately torturing a dog is a terrible thing to do. This guy apparently set fire to his Mom's dog because she wouldn't let him use her car:
What I don't understand is how anyone can actually support this A**hole. I am glad to see someone finally taking animal cruelty seriously. You would think by now people would know that torturing animals very often escalates to serious crimes against people up to and including murder.
Purposefully harming animals is a marker of mental disturbance.
You might be surprised how many hard-core criminals have this behavior in their background.
It's not much of a leap for these guys (yes, they are almost always males) to transfer the same treatment to humans. Has to do with a lack of insight/empathy/feeling for the damage they are causing. These are defective human units.
A dog has alot of friends because he wags his tail instead of his mouth.

"Nine disciplinary actions" while incarcerated, too.
I am kind of heartened to finally see a real sentence in one of these cases. Maybe not the sentence I would impose, but not the shocking slap on the wrist that seems so horribly common.
"After the 8-year-old dog was led into the packed hearing room, the Alabama Board of Pardons and Paroles voted 3-0 to deny early release to 23-year-old Juan Daniels of Montgomery, who was sentenced in 2009 to nine years and six months in prison, a record in Alabama in an animal cruelty case."

Yes, me too Connie. This kind of thing makes me crazy, so it does make me glad to see that at least he wasn't released.
These kinds of stories while good to know, so disturbing that there are people out there this sick and cruel.
