hey guys i have a 93 day old gsd female pup and she is humping her stuffed toy :S i got her when she was 35 days :s but this humping thing started and kind of like ill bite your hand mode all time shell be fine it i pet her on her head but if i touch her by side shell be ok but next min whammm she nips :S please help me this humping thing got me worried (
Did you really get her at 35 days? So at just over 4 weeks old?
Wow. See what is missed by not being able to read the entire post easily?
This is a good question...
A pup taken from it's mom / littermates this early may have missed some very important lessons - such as DON'T BITE ME LIKE THAT!! (given by a littermate...)
I know the pup is still very young, but how much exercise/playtime is she getting?
Can you distract her with another toy / squeeky toy when she is "humping" her toy? (please don't be correcting/punishing her at this young age)
well guys ill explain in detail now my problems with this pup are which are my problems and not pup's i think
first that nipping is not a big issue but lot of my friends said it grows away and the humping thing is like im confused only male dogs do it right and my friends say its an act to show dominence :S and a pup humps=dominance? ^ ^ and the main issue is when ever she see's my mom or pop she pees :S with excitement :s been doing that since i got her and any stranger who comes over and i try to socialize her she pees :S and revolves but she never even once done that with me i take her to walk in morning for 30 mins on my house terrace and evening about 1 hour of play and walk well shes a pup and i wont want to over exercise her and i got few more doubts i feed her royal canin brand puppy food it should be fed dry and i mix it with water and give her since she wont drink much water alone like if i keep the dish full of water with her she plays with it all day and if i mix water and put the food down she eats all of it is it wrong to mix dry food with water?
and when does the puppy's coat blows away i started brushing her daily bit of hair is coming
she weighs almost 12Kgs is it ideal weight
sorry for long post
P.S
this is my first GSD so please help guys ) i can do a video of her problems if needed :S
Just take the toy she likes to hump away and redirect to another toy.
Have you started marker (clicker-type) training yet? This is the perfect way to start training your pup. Here's a link to a free e-book to get you started: Marker Training E-book
and a couple of good videos, if your budget allows: Your Puppy... Marker Training...
re the nipping/mouthing, you should be redirecting to something more appropriate than your hand or ankle, like a rolled up handtowel or a soft tug. This behavior will go away over time and as you teach your puppy what is appropriate to bite and what is not.
If the puppy gets really wound up and won't calm down, fill a stuffable toy like a Kong with soft dog food or cream cheese, and put her in her crate for a chance to mellow out. Pups are like little kids in that they tend to get overstimulated and have a hard time calming down without some help from 'Mom'!
PS, she's really cute! And we'd love to see a video of her...

Here is a thread which may be helpful. I used the search box (upper left hand corner) and typed in "excited urinating". There is a lot of good informtion available by looking at existing threads! Hope this helps...
