Hi Everyone, I have been lurking in the shadows for a while now, reading as much as I can, learning a ton, and just enjoying the friendly environment and I guess it's time to join in. My question is about the Leerburg videos. Which videos should I start with. I have two dogs. Both are rescues, A GSD who came from my grandmother. Grandma rescued her because she needed a home and Grandma is a sucker for GSD's. But Cammy (the GSD who was 2 years old) quickly became to much for an 88 year old woman. She is now 4 and pretty well behaved but she craves much more mental stimulation. From Puppy hood to about 2.5 years old she had very little training. When I got her we started marker training the best I knew how. She knows a few of the basics and is socialized well. My other dog is a Chocolate Lab. He was rescued from a shelter at approx. 6months. He is crate trained, house broken and knows a few basic positions. He was introduced to the pack in much the same way Ed recommends. And he is also pretty well socialized. We still work on him getting a little excited but I'm sure its just puppy excitement. I can normally get his attention back on me and work through some of his positions he knows until he calms down.
I really enjoy all the free streaming videos and would love to hear what you all would recommend to start with. I can afford around 100 bucks to start off. And then I can build from there.
Hi Jeremy. Welcome to the board. Lisa gave you a very good start to look into. since your dogs are older, but remember the basic. "Knowledge is never a waste of time". I heard my pastor preach that. Dan
