I am talking about having another pup. It seems to be about two to three weeks now that I got my Carla. I am sorry, and real apologetic to anyone, that I was not able to keep my wants in check. And my word is out the window, but I am not sorry for all the extra work, love, and training that having my two pups has brought in to my life. Plus the Challenges, some have warn me about.
So how is it going? Well to me I am liking it. Carla is spunky and love a ball to no avail, her nose is always close to the ground, good tracker? at this stage She is following my every move, and call, we started marker training, as per video's in my arsenal plus all tools available to me thru Leerburg. She is separated from Chico either by crate, or a run that I have with lots of bricks, ice coolers and sand bags. 'Cause they have become a team in breakout. Carla was an escape artist way before that, I look at her one minute in the crate, the next she was out. put her in the run, You guess it, She was out. I started to name her "Escape"
As for how I am doing with the situation, I work with both of the dogs separate, most of the time is by feel, as going to the bathroom place, other than that is by Rank, Chico first as in walks and training, He also ignores Her at times to my surprise, Other times I have to call out to stop digging, work for four seconds if I moved, recall for both pup's is good, Chico hesitates for a second, that is trainable.
Now I want to address this situation further, Even thou I did it, and don't regret it. Everyone that gave me the advice on not to, you are correct. I have the time; I am retired plus I don't sleep. So I call myself compensating for everything you not suppose to do. Dogs do come first.
Plans for the near future, I am having two separate condo build for my dogs, with six foot porch with over hang and a run included, outside in the day and inside at night. Plus continue in training for schutzhund, and have my dogs catch up with me in old age, God's Willing. Dan

"Everyone that gave me the advice on not to, you are correct. I have the time; I am retired plus I don't sleep. "
I have to add that you were experiencing challenges already with the dog you had.
My own feelings about your adding a second one at this stage were very negative.
But of course it's your own decision; that's all I'm going to say about it, and I'm not going to say "I told you so" when you need help, so please keep posting. The feeling on this board is all for the dog(s), and there is no one here who won't help just because they tried to talk you out of this step.
So .... got a photo to link us to?

DITTO. You are having problems with the 6mo old that you already have. What makes you think that you can do better with 2 to train. You will only have 2x the problems. It gets HARDER not easier as they get older. If you have trouble at 6 months...what do you think you are going to have at 12 or 18-30 months when size & maturity challenges kick in?!!!
I think the breeder is makeing a big mistake at the expense of the pup. I hope that the breeder will still take the dog back when you realize that you have bitten off more than you can chew.

Thanks Connie, I will be knocking at your door. Challenges for me comes at every turn, (A side note. I was left in the hospital as a baby for over three months, The Army said I could not do it, so I beg, did twenty two years) I have not done nothing all by myself, I have to thank many people around the way. The same way I will learn and thank all of you. Dan

Anne, this is my doing, not the breeder. OK, a deep breath. Nothing in my experience makes me think I can do better, but I Dan, will certainly give my pack all of me, more than myself. every dog is an individual, Thank God I have a good club plus leerburg and then there might be magic. Dan

Hey Dan… I too believe in magic. Sometimes it may seem airy fairy or pie in the sky but if anything is going to bring it out for us, it will be our labor intensive, cherished companions.
I want to offer my heartfelt congratulations to you on the new addition to your family. How exciting for you!!
I missed your post about a promise that you must have made (in order to not keep your word); but my only caution would be that you NEVER go back on these words to your pups. Saying these words to the caring, considerate and genuinely concerned folks on this forum is one thing, keeping your words and putting them into action for both your pups is a lifelong commitment. You sound like you’re up for the challenge.
I wish you the best of luck and hope the two are everything you’ve dreamed of.
Oh and nice name for the new girl…

CJ Thanks for all of your words, I don't take my giving word lithely in any case, it has cost me contrast feelings in my soul.
As far as my pack it is 12:24 AM EST. and I just got back from a short walk with them, On Chico's walk all I can say he is my boy, ears front, very attentive, and protective, Carla is having fun while we play and train.
CJ Thanks once again for ever so lighten this feelings of my word. Dan
