Ok, I know some of you have already heard about this at great length, but I think 10 days is a reasonable time frame to start getting pretty f*%$ing excited!
I have enough toys, tugs, etc. to last me at least a couple weeks, I hope.
I still really have to puppy proof my house, which is the thing I keep meaning to do, but then I think, 'Hey, he's not coming for a month'... well it's almost time!
Here is his pedigree for those of you who haven't seen it.
And what is a puppy post without some sort of visual aid? Here is a not-so-great screen cap from a video taken the other night (courtesy of a very kind board member who trains with my breeder)- PUPPY!
Thanks guys, I am going to have fun training him... I've arranged to take 10 days off work when he arrives, which will be extra awesome. After that he'll be coming everywhere with me, including work, so socializing will go well I think!
Congrats on the new pup. He is a cutie. So great that you can arrange to take time off from work to get a good start together. That's what I have always done & it gives you a big jump on the housetraining, & bonding. Being able to take a pup to work is such a wonderful start for socialization. I have been lucky enough to be able to do that, too & can't saw enough about what a big difference it can make. It will be an all-around great start for you & you new little guy. Don't forget to stock up on the bandaids.
So do I! But since he is still in another country, we all have to wait.
But trust me, in 10 days, there will be more pictures than you'll know what to do with!
I have never used an x-pen before, but have gotten some encouraging advice about it. My original plan was to crate, tether, or longline at all times... input?
Never owned an x-pen, but have always raised pups with the others methods.
I think that Ed had recently posted something about using them now for their new mal pups. I'm sure that you will find it,...maybe in the streaming video area.
