hello, after a nasty fall from my dog stopping to poop I want to get a bike attachment but with so many on the market I dont know which to get. I guess my main priorities would be secure ie not easily pulled over and one where the leash doesn't get in the way. Any first hand experiences would be great!!! Thanks!!!

I use the walkydog. Keeps both hands free and keeps the dog away from the drivetrain of the bicycle. My dog is around 60lbs and has just enough leverage on the bike to slow me down when she's tired but not enough to stop me if I'm pedaling or cause me to crash. Make sure you are using a harness if you bike with your dog.
By far the best product out there. I bike with my dog all the time. He weighs about 70 lbs and has very high pray drive. He can lunge or try to run in a different direction. The spring absorbs everything.
It even has an attachment so you can go with 2 dogs.
I've always thought about getting one, but I haven't done it yet. I just use a leash, and I'm always prepared to let it go if something happens... I'm still scared that the 80 lb dog will be able to topple me with a bike attachment. As it is, he just hangs out in heel position with a loose leash. So long as I keep moving over 8mph, I figure he's too busy running/ keeping up to worry about pooping, or chasing small furry thing.
I'm glad to hear some bigger dogs have successfully used them.
Loved the video Michael! I have similar video, except I had to take it of my own dog- that was kinda tricky!
The springer is an excellent product. But be aware....nothing is
fool proof. If you haven't rode in a while and you plan to tether your 80lb dog to a bike no matter what product you use...use caution.
I use the walky dog and find it much easier than just using the leash. My dog weighs about 70lbs and has a strong prey drive aswell, he races away to start with but settles down to a trot and is fine after that.He can pull the walky dog forward when he races on and it comes behind my leg,its not dangerous though and cant come off.
Looking at the springer attatchment it seems more versitile and you can walk more than 1 dog at a time,i dont think you could do that with the walky dog.
It really burns the energy off and my gsd is a lot calmer and better behaved since ive used this way of excersing him

LOL.... yes- I can see a potential major accident with ANY large-ish dog, and a 2 wheeled bike... Thats kinda why I'm happier with a leash, at least for now. I can drop it, and scream PLATZ if something 'uh-oh' starts to happen.
If he was tethered to me, I'd be s.o.l.
I generally hold the leash, or sometime I just tuck it in my pocket. He's a good boy, and if I keep speed up and consistent, after 5 miles he's toast!
If my dog was any smaller, I'm sure I'd already have a bike attachment. It's just one less thing to worry about!
I was torn between the walky and springer. My dog is only about 55lb and I used to just hold the leash until she decided she had to poop NOW and I flew off my bike, it was on a dirt path thank God, wasn't wearing a helmet, got a nasty road rash and a nasty scar. She is really good other than that, doesn't pull or try to chase things. I had her on a prong just in case. This was only a few months ago so Im sure I will be fine to ride again, I was just scared of falling again...
Why should she wear a harness?
I love biking for a high energy dog since I hate running its bin a perfect way to exercise her quickly( i have 3 dogs with 3 different energy levels=3 differnt walks)
