I was trying to get a nice site put up for the Service dog site, with a wysiwyg Website editor...it wasn't going well.
The temp plates they had didn't fit the look I wanted for the site...
Given that the primary focus of the program is going to be for Veterans with PTSD, I didn't think that flack vests and that sort of thing would be too good....also lots of the temp plates weren't calming or tranquil.....or they looked like a hospital site..also not desirable.
Then the ones I did like were not expandable, or had bad design elements that I couldn't change....arrrgggghhhhh.
I whined about it to my husband...(hot shot web developer) and he called one of the top design gals in his office for advice.
Well she ended up offering to do the site for free!!!!!
She is one of the top design people in his large national office!!!!
Then they went to the other top guy there and asked him if he wanted in, and he said yes!!!!!
He already donates 5% of his earnings from freelance work to the Wounded Warriors Program, so he was delighted to help!
Their work is great!!!!!!
I'm just so excited!!!!
There has been lots and lots of interest in the service dog program idea, but I really needed a website to refer people to for information and to give donations.....
What great news, Willie! I'm really looking forward to seeing the site once you've got it up and running. As a designer, I know how hard it can be to find just the right "look" out of generic site templates (hence I always design my own, or choose an option that gives me maximum editing capability). I commend you for sticking to your vision and not compromising with something "off the shelf" that just didn't fit. And how AWESOME that you have such terrific creative support!!
Please keep us posted on the site progress!

This deal is going to be the snowball rolling downhill, it's going to be huge.
Happy for you, for the veterans who will benefit, and dogs too, it's all
great. Way to model for your kids the value of thinking of ideas to help others.
YAY!
