For those of you who offered to help with donations, thank you!!!
We have two needs for the organization right now, one is simple:
I want to order the Clicker Train Your Own Assistance Dog DVD to eval it for the basis of our class room education.
Ashley @ Leerburg says that lots of organizations use it for their participants, and that it would most likely work for the basis of the curriculum.
All you have to do to help is to call Leerburg and buy a gift certificate for your donation amount. Tell them it is for Paws for Affect and give them my name Willie Tilton.
The video isn't that much, and even if you could only give $5 it will help greatly!!!!
The other need is for funding for the business license....that could be between $500.00 to $1000.00 I'm told.
The website will have a paypal link that you can donate through, or PM me for my address where you can send a check.
I really appreciate all the support that you all have given me, through posting and the many emails.
This is a project that can't be done without everyone helping....and I'm proud to see how this board has been so supportive!!!
Willie
Thanks so much for the donation!!!!!
I went and looked at that site..it looks cool!!!!
I will do that for sure once they get the website done!!!
I know there have got to be other grants out there, I wonder where....

You're welcome!
Grants are something to consider for the future, but I know for now that these donations coming from the folks here are what will get the ball rolling...

Wal-Mart is huge into giving grants to organizations in communities where there is a Wal-Mart store. And you can reapply every year. You might need to already have your non-profit status for your organization to apply.

Edit reason: added extra info
I will definatly keep them for in a few months....
The problem is as Mara said, the grants want you to have 501c or at least LLC status.
I'm trying to raise the money to get that status taken care of so I can apply for these sort of things.
Everyone wants some sort of official stamp before donating..understandably.
But I certainly don't have the $1000.00 or so to get this going....so I can get it going...lol
Any lawyers that want to donate their time to file this stuff?? lol
Any way, I'm going to start an new thread on fund raising and hopefully leave this one for people donating funds to get this program going.
