So this lovely little creature has "found" its way to my home temporarily. She was found wondering the streets of a nearby neighborhood. I am going today to see if she is chipped and see if we can find her owners. I have a question though...any idea what breed she is? We were thinking a Blackmouth Cur...
She has a great prey drive and loves tug already , she did great in the crate and at a possible 3 months is already potty trained in the house (no accidents all night ) If my husband would let me (he wont) and she is not chipped with no family coming forth I would SOOO keep her..
Pitbull. Definately. And fits the bill to be abandoned too.. Lots of stray/homeless pits running around my area. They are VERY common and the shelters are full of them. Probably one of the most popular impulse buys where I live. Everyone wants a "tough dog" and the sorta people that own them live chaotic lives. It seems like every 16-18 year old's bright idea to get one- or even 2... Then "breed" them, and try to sell them to each other. Then they end up in shelters because their landlord won't let them have them or their parents flip out or something along those lines....
I would love to have one some day. They are such good dogs! That one in the pic is adorable beyond words! I hope you hang on to her!!
Unusual coloration for a pit, but pretty. She is a cutie pie!
I don't think she's a pitty. She has a darker muzzle and lighter coat on the rest of her body. If her ears were erect, I'd think she had some malinois in her...
The Black Mouthed Cur guess may be correct; it's not a breed we are familiar with here in my neck o' the woods, but I understand pretty common in the south.
The only thing is even the Blackmouth Cur doesnt fit because she is too dark unlike this pic . She has to be a mix...maybe cur and mal (that would be awesome)
I'd also say pit type mix with maybe something shepherdy. She looks a whole lot like my neighbor's "American Bully" type pit in coloration with the silver blue, my other neighbor has a pit/cattle dog who has her face (he ended up all black with molted skin, what does her skin look like?). We have a local pit shepherd who's go the black mask over blue as well.
She's ADORABLE however which at the moment is all that matters lol.
