Based on the questions/input from the "preliminary" thread, here is the information for our 2nd Video Contest: (Connie, could you please lock the preliminary thread and direct folks here?)
THREE FORUM MEMBERS HAVE OFFERED TO DONATE AWESOME PRIZES!!!
(We will come up with something appropriate for the kids as needed.)
Mara Jessup - a handknit, very soft wool cap!!!! Kristin Mortensen - a black/white custom sketch of your dog!!!! Barb Schuler - a set of hand crafted dog-related note cards! THANK YOU Mara and Kristin!!
* Behavior/trick must be a new one not trained before Dec. 1st.
* Videos may be posted at anytime through January 5th.
* Voting will begin on January 6th and will end at midnight on January 9th.
* Votes will be tallied by Barbara and everyone else watching the thread. My decision is final, can not be contested, nor overruled or questioned in any manner. No Border Collies will win. Hehehehe. (Every vote will be public - I'm just being goofy).
* Who ever has the highest number of votes will have first choice of the three prizes, then the second winner will select and the third place winner will receive the last prize. Prizes will be mailed to the recipient by the donor of that particular item.
* A seperate thread for posting videos will be created.
* You may enter as many of your dogs as you would like, but only one dog per family can win (darn Border Collies...) If two dogs from the same family earn the highest number of votes, they get to "share" the prize.
* Children of any age may enter and will judged seperately. Depending on ages, we will create special prizes for each child who participates. (Ideas anyone? I think each child should win something).
* Video may include the training process or just the glorious end result.
* You may change your mind mid-stream if what you first thought you would train isn't going too well. As long as "plan B" is still a brand new behavior!
HAVE FUN!! NO STRESSING OUT ALLOWED! This should be a good distraction from all the normal stressers of the upcoming holiday season. It doesn't have to be perfect (darn Border Collies) just you and your dog having a good time!!
Bump again, cause I had a hard time finding this thread!
In the other "preliminary" thread (which is locked) there were links to the last contest's entries. Is there a thread that announced the winners of the contest?
I don't think you'll be the sole entrant, at least I hope not! I'm planning on posting a video, which I began training the behavior before we left town. I'll be posting at the last possible minute to allow as much training as we can squeeze in once I get home on Saturday.
