I have already asked a few questions, both boys are ok now.
I am a professional horse trainer near Montreal, Qc.
I leave on a 80 acres farm, great place for the horses and dogs.
I have been looking at this site for some times. Horses are no mystery to me but dogs can be different.
At the moment I have 2 dogs, that is a first for me to have 2 and it is very different then just one. For the first time also I have pur breed, that was a boy friend idea. I got the first dog Dexter from a show breeder, I wanted a more working dog but all the breeders were insiting on selling me co-owned sud dog for twice the price and a tone of trouble when all I wanted was a pet. So came Dexter. He is lovely but on the slow side and hard to motivate but getting better, he is now 16 months. His favorit game is to run in the wood. He does not chase ball or rope. Some time he will want to tug but that will last, oh one minute.
Our new boy is Harley, an SPCA rescue, for the same reason again I could not get a working dog line. What is with the Doberman breeders! He is just so different. Playfull, watchfull and alert. Very high prey drive and will not turn down any food. He came 3 weeks ago totaly untrained. He is so fast, well compare to Dexter any way. Harley can heel, sit, down and come. Stay at the moment is not happening, this boy is the energy bunny.
With the 2 boys in the house, I decided that some formal training would be needed. I just found a good trainer, unlike the love and treat place I first went to with Dexter. He was better before the OB class. I have to work hard now to fix the problem but getting their.
So again I just love this site and forum, so much good usefull informations
