My nine year old son and I couldn't wait for Christmas so I got the re curve bow out. It's been a long time since I shot a bow so any advice is appreciated. What's happening is when the arrow is released it flies sideways then straghtens out and accuracy sucks. The arrow shafts are carbon fiber somthing or other. When my son shoots he can only draw about three quarters and the arrows fly true. Do I need to find wood shaft arrows or do they make fiber ones that act more like wood?
....or maybe the arrows are not sized properly for the bow.
This is what I'm leaning towards.
The arrows sound like they are spined well for your son. You, on the other hand, are able to pull the bow back farther. That extra oomph that the arrow gets with you is probably making the arrow flex differently than when your son shoots.
Have you ever seen an arrow leave a recurve in slow motion?
