Hello all, during our normal play/training session this evening our tug split in half. Its a one handle 11 inch jute tug from Leerburg, basically my question is should i switch to a different type of tug like synthetic or stick with the jute, is one more durable than the other. Let me also say cause im sure someone will ask, she only plays with the tug with me zero alone time with it. It just gets a lot of use, and actually her tugging intensity is really increasing fast since I moved our sessions to the basement to work on better engagement. Any suggestions as far as tugs and beginning bite work equipment would be very helpful thanks. (save on shipping )

I would have as many different types of tugs as you can. I have a jute and a French linen and just ordered a leather one from LB. I also have a linen bite pillow and am going to order a bite builder. Bite builders really help in targeting. Danni loves her pillow. The more stuff, the merrier, I think. Are you doing any bite sports with her? Jute would be better for Schutzhund, whereas French linen would be better for any of the ringsports.

Well i think I will try a linen one and attempt to fix the jute one i have. Leaning toward ring sport, I am gonna look for a linen bite pillow I didn't see one on LB.
Doesn't sound like much will hold up to your dog if he's tearing up a jute than not much will survive. I believe the jute is the toughest material stronger than the others.
You just need a bunch of different ones or more jutes and like the old saying goes nothing lasts forever.
I don't think it's a bad idea to use different ones that way there won't be equipment bias.
