Oh man, I'm right with you Michael... Just about when he started talking about apes and humans I caught myself dozing and drooling... and that was probably only a minute into the video. Click. Off.
I think he's got some nice dogs and that he does a lot with them. He also has some good training ideas for having fun with your pet. I believe Animal Planet was doing a show with him for a while where he'd go and help someone teach their dog a job it could do. All really good things, IMO.
Is he a super dog trainer? Nope. BC's can make an average trainer look great. But he is really good at advertising himself and his dogs.

Now he blocked me from that video and removed my comment.
The reason I bought this in to this forum to show you guys (and gals) that he is not as experienced as people think.
Well, yeah, I'd probably do the same thing if someone criticized me his sandbox, his rules.
But most people out there aren't as great as they think they are. People who need to keep advertising themselves usually aren't as great as they sound. People who really are that great have little need to advertise themselves - people seek them out.
And FWIW, I think most of his experience is with BC's that quite often don't need correction collars. And lots of people have swung to far to get away from the old Kohler method's of training. I'm pretty sure he's got little to no experience with with dogs that really *need* corrections.

I think he is good of what he is doing. I watch his video and I can teach Eva how to balance treat on her nose and catch it in the air.
My argument started when he think he knows everything about dog training and calling others crap.
He know how to train trick and toy dogs but he have no experience at Schutzhund sport or protection training at all.
I believe even Ed or Michael Ellis still working and experiencing with some other method to train dog to make it good for both owner and the dog. When somebody saying crap about some method, that pisses me off.
On the second video link, I tell him to better stay at petsmart the place where he is come from.
SO I just watched those vidoes. My opinion? Typical young guy who has not yet learned that he deosn't know everything - and looooooves to talk. I'd also venture to guess his audience is mainly 15 to 22 y/o gals.
As far as the second video goes, well, if you're getting your dog training advice from ZG on youtube then that is the advice you need to hear. Because there are a ton of people that think a dog growling barking out of fear is being "protective". And we really don't need those people encouring their dog to bite someone who comes in their house. If you want to get into serious bitework or protection sports then you're already going to know better than to ask that question to ZG.
