My husband and I are picking up our new female chocolate min pin on February 10th! Since it took us 2 weeks to name Dom, I figured now would be a good time to get ideas flowing!
I loved our last min pin's name- Swag (Scientific Wild Ass Guess). She will sure have some big shoes to fill!
You really liked the name of your last Min Pin (I do too – unique). What about a play on that… GAWS (Guess Ass Wild Scientific or Good As Was Suggested).
Maybe you could pronounce it Jaws. Kind of like Geoff, a soft “G”.
If she’s anything like the Min Pin’s I know and love, it might suit her just fine.
I always have to meet the dog before I can name it. They just kind of name themselves.
Drift was so named because she tended to "drift to the right" as a pup.
We had a GSD pup in the kennel that had to be bottle fed. I came up with the name Pip Squeak. He used to squeak when he was hungry, and the Pip came from the book Great Expectations.
I try to pick out names BEFORE I get a puppy, but sometimes it just doesn't work--LOL! I had firmly decided BEFORE I picked up Bogie that his name would be Zeke. Even started out the first couple of days with it. It just never seemed to 'stick' ya know?
Then I was watching Ghost Hunters one night & they mentioned 'bogies' as a type of 'boogieman' figure and I thought: Hmmm, Bogie (long "o") would make a good name. I tried it out & asked the puppy if he liked it and BAM, that was it.
