Quick question, is it worth it for me to go thru the hoops of a CKC certification does it do anything for me. Let me follow that by saying my dog is not AKC registered, her mother's paperwork is in the wind. She is registered but by her previous owner and its a long story, if you have any idea on that PM me. My dog is fixed so breeding is not an issue but if I want to compete, (mondio or ShzH) does the CKC reg do anything for me?
I know both my dogs parents and there owners very well however this is the only pedigree info available for her. Fathers Pedigree
Continental Kennel Club or Canadian Kennel Club? If your dog is altered already, just get an Indefinate Listing Privilege (ILP) with the AKC. Anyway you cut it, I believe UScA will give you a scorebook without papers. Your dog will just be listed as a Mix.
When I got my one ACD's scorebook with UScA years ago I was too lazy to pull out his AKC papers so he is listed as a mix on his scorebook.
You can also use CKC papers to get UKC papers only on dogs that can trace their lineage, tho, of purebred parents, etc. But you're right, CKC registers Lhasa poos, Cockapoos, labradoodles, dorkies, chiweenies, etc.
I've heard a lot of mixed revues about the ContKC. Some of the AKC diehards poopoo it as a puppy mill registry because their the new kids on the block, and currently have an open registration occurring. How quickly everyone forgets the AKC open registration days. I think we need more alternatives I am sick personally of the AKC and plan on making the jump to greener pastures soon. Not to mention the PETA and animal libs that now dominate the AKC. JMO!!!
WHEN I SEE SOMETHING BEAUTIFUL, I'D BE WILLING TO DIE PROTECTING IT.
Huh? For some reason they must have forgotten to send me my PETA shirt when I got involved with the AKC <shrug> Personally, I want some integrity in the regristry I use. If you think the CKC has integrity....well I will just leave it at that.
