I have a coworker interested in feeding a raw diet with a skeptical family. So I made this little video when I fed Danni this morning. I should have added in the video (not just the description) that I feed organ meat and veggies at night.
Also, I just started making her wait when I open the screen after the sliding glass door. I wasn't sure she'd wait, and she didn't. But she's getting better! Normally I would have brought her back in to sit but I was trying to make a food video and not a training one, haha. Also, sorry about the quality, it's an iPhone video.
Maybe this question would be best on another post I can move it if needed but I was curious how often most raw feeders feed there dogs. I have been feeding a raw diet for about 9 months now and have always given Tenzin one meal at night with some food marker training during the day. I have been wondering if I should break his meal up or change to feeding in the morning. What do you guys do?
I feed twice per day. Although in the summer months when it gets really hot, my dogs appetites go down and I have fed once per day.
I think it matters on how much you feed at one meal and how that comes into place with their activity level.
But certainly it is what works best for the individual dog too.
Thanks for the input maybe I'll change it up down the road... I like him to have a bit of an appetite during the day for training purposes... He does not like to take food under distractions or stress so if he has a little more food drive I can stand 99ft away from the distraction instead of 100ft. lol
I am a new raw feeder. I feed 2x a day, if I don't my dog is ravenous when we come inside from morning chores. If I had a dog that slept most of the day, because I was at work, I would feed 1x per day, at night.
